Cool Run Enchanted Barak

Barak

I  first met Barak at Gloria Hyland Fisher’s house in 2002.  I was unsure what to expect from Silken Windhounds in general, and Barak in particular, one of 7 puppies from the Enchanted litter.  From the beginning I knew Barak was special, from his black eyebrow to his discerning nature, his perseverance, his quiet demeanor, his noble stance and his ability to show me that he loved me.  And he really was a treasure, a true and noble warrior who was swift of foot and when he was born Gloria told me that it looked like he had a lightening bolt on his head.  Thus the derivation of his name, Barak, a warrior in the book of Judges and the Hebrew word for lightening… an apt description of my beautiful boy.

Barak arrived in my house a little confused, as he was a country boy who was now transported to the city.  Although he may have been a little disoriented his first day or so here his ability to endear himself to the family and to attain the status of pampered pet was soon evident.  The first night he spent in my house he managed to con my husband into allowing him to sleep in the bed.  To my surprise when I awoke in the morning neither my husband nor Barak were in the bed.  I searched the house for them and finally found them outside on the deck with my husband sleeping on the lounge chair and Barak lying on his chest.  He has never slept apart from us since then.  Not only is Barak my noble prince but he is a sensitive, caring, and intelligent member of the family who endears himself to everyone who comes into the house.

In 2004 he won his ISWS Championship in Woodstown NJ and in 2005 he won his International, American and Canadian Rarities Championships in Allentown PA.  Handled in the show ring by his breeder Gloria Hyland Fisher of Cool Run Kennels, who to this day he adores and loves going back to Camp Cool Run for visits.

Barak is now the proud father of 2 wonderful litters.  The Woodland Fantasy litter was with his first love, Riata.  The Fine China litter was with the beautiful Joven.  The puppies have all inherited the beauty and loving personalities of their parents.
